Configuration settings are getting stepped on

Mar 9, 2011 at 5:58 PM

In StyleCop and StyleCop+ I have settings that are getting stepped on when I close and re-open the Project Settings UI. I only have one Settings.StyleCop file in the StyleCop installation directory. When I close and re-open the file, my File Headers, Advanced Naming Rules and SP001: CheckAllowedIndentationCharacters settings change like something else is stepping on them.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks,

Chad

Never mind. I see that this is a known issue when dealing with a settings file in the installation directory.

Yep,

While issues like http://stylecop.codeplex.com/workitem/6689 or http://stylecop.codeplex.com/workitem/6720 are not fixed, the best way is to avoid touching settings file in the installation directory, preferring some file at the root of the file system instead.

Just for you to know that all issues related to inconvinience editing settings files in the installation directory have been fixed.

Now you could try StyleCop 4.5.13 (and StyleCop+ 1.1) and everything should work fine.
